Air letters
1 King George VI. Purple air letter overprinted "BAHRAIN 6 annas". 1 June 1952.
2 Queen Elizabeth. Red coronation air letter overprinted "BAHRAIN 6 ANNAS" (note: the imprinted stamp is inscribed "2 JUNE 1953" instead of "sixpence", type I. 3 June 1953.
-type I: "A" of "Avion" to the left of the first "E" of "LETTER".

4 Queen Elizabeth. Red air letter, imprinted stamp reads "SIXPENCE" instead of date. 2-line instructions begin "If anything is enclosed...". January 1954.
5 as No. 4 but instructions changed to 3 lines beginning "An air letter should not contain...". 1955.
6 as No. 5 but overprint "BAHRAIN 40 NP", decimal currency. 1957.
7 as No. 6 but rate reduced to 30 NP. 1 April 1959.
